I Love It!
By Green Owl
I was afraid to get such an inexpensive printer, but I wanted a simple one. I'm tired of too many bells and whistles. This one prints, scans, and copies. The print is perfect. There are only 4 buttons and you don't have to wait for it to display cryptic words for your next direction. You can give it specific directions on your computer and set up defaults. The main difference between this and the expensive All-In-One HP printers I've used before is the top loading paper, and a simpler interface. You can get the same printer with wireless capability if you pay another $10-20.

Smooth operation, no excess noise
After a negative experience owning a different HP Deskjet all-in-one printer (the model 1050, which I recommend avoiding at all costs, due to loudness, paper feed & cartridge installation problems), I was hesitant to try another HP Deskjet all-in-one. However, the price was right, we have a compatible HP computer with Windows 7, I like that this one is white & a compact size, and since some reviewers said it was quiet I took the plunge & ordered this 1512 model. This one works just the way a jet printer/copier should, the paper comes out with a few moments of pushing noise, not the shaky coughing & sputtering like its predecessor. Feeds the paper in perfect alignment, cartridge loading is easy (it comes with 2, one black & one color, HP 61 size), with simple top buttons for choice of black or color copies. Finally, we have a printer/copier that does the job without those excess laboring sounds, at a reasonable price tag.

Use a 10 yr old dumb phone. With hundreds of printers on the market ...
By IA RAD
I'm a totally analog guy. Use a 10 yr old dumb phone. With hundreds of printers on the market and many different recommendations, it's hard to choose one. Walmart guy said his customers buy the HP 1512 like crazy and no returns. Cheapest ink cartridge to replace.
He was correct. It took me 15 minutes to set it all up. Easy and the software guides you step by step. Haven't tried the fax/scanner yet.
